To say that the Rochester Community & Technical College volleyball team is off to a great start in 2019 is an understatement; the Yellowjackets are 10-0 on the year after sweeping four matches in their home invitational this weekend, including a pair of wins over NJCAA Division II programs.
In addition to adding the four 'W''s to their ledger on Friday and Saturday, RCTC also welcomed a special guest in United States Marine Corps representative Sgt. Peterson, who presented several Yellowjackets with their MCAC Athlete-of-the-Week awards earlier in the season. The MCAC Athlete-of-the-Week honors program is sponsored by the United States Marine Corps, Adidas and Nicklasson Athletic Company.
Sgt. Peterson and the USMC acknowledged the accomplishments of Carrie Rutledge, a 2018 NJCAA Division III All-America selection from Hayfield, Minnesota.
With a weekend full of MCAC Football, Volleyball and Soccer contests concluding today, stay tuned for the Week Four Athletes-of-the-Week to be named on Tuesday, 9/10.

After a successful 2018-19 athletic season, the United States Marine Corps will again be an impressive presence at several MCAC events and on member campuses. The USMC will continue to provide leadership training, team cohesion exercise opportunities and educational forums for students, fans, followers and families around the Minnesota College Athletic Conference. Keep an eye out for the USMC on your campus as they present selected Athlete-of-the-Week awards to high-performing student-athletes who - like the Marine Corps - win battles for their teams en route to earning MCAC Player-of-the-Week honors.
